I have a large bump or mass just above my right thigh on the waist line. almost the size of my fist. no pain, only sore if i poke at it a lot?

Likely a lipoma: Usually a mass like this which is that size and non tender represents a lipoma, a fatty benign tumor. For safety this should be evaluated by your physician. If a lipoma, it doesn't need to be removed unless it grows or becomes painful. For cosmetic purposes it can be removed at any time. Try to leave it alone and not to poke at it because they can become inflamed and tender. Good luck.
