See below: An elevated neutrophil count can be due to various causes including: acute stress, infections, inflammatory conditions, malignancy and others. Interpreting an isolated elevation of neutrophils is quite impossible without knowing the clinical context. If the value is only modestly above normal an elevation may be insignificant. The best advice, if your concerned, is to consult with your physician
