Possible abscess: would be concerned that it is an abscess, particularly if it is red or painful. if it is an abscess it will require drainage. it could also be a cyst, or a benign fatty tumor. far less likely it could be some sort of malignancy.... given the wide variety of possible diagnoses, it is important that you be seen by a doctor, to make a definitive diagnosis

Epidermoid cyst: This benign cyst, aka epidermal inclusion cyst, is the most common skin cyst. It typically occurs in areas of little/no hair, such as you describe, though it originates from hair follicle. It is usually filled with malodorous "cheese like" material. Rarely they become inflamed/infected. They don't require treatment; if inflamed a doctor may inject trimancinolone (a steroid) or surgically remove

Tight Calf Muscles!: The reason your calf hurts is how tight the entire muscle group is. When you stand on your toes, the calf muscle contracts, and if it is tight, then you may have pain. Performing runners' stretches are very beneficial and should help reduce the pain. If it continues, seek medical treatment with a podiatrist.

Evaluation required: First step is to evaluate the cause of the pain. A baker's cyst behind the knee can cause pain, or cartilage problems are common. Many other causes are possible. An orthopedist evaluation may be most helpful.

Hydroquinone cream: Try hydroquinone cream. Rub in a small amount 2 times each day. You can find a 2% hydroquinone cream over the counter in most pharmacies. Natural liquorice extract is another treatment that works but is usually not as effective.
