Ovulation: The best time to conceive is during the time of ovulation. That occurs 14 days after the first day of your period. Sperm can live in the female tract for up to 5 days so having sex just before, during and just after ovulation is a good idea. Taking a prenatal vitamin with folate (folic acid) is important and having generally healthy habits like regular exercise and good diet are also important. Good luck
