Pathology, blood tes: A blood test can identify some patients with ciliary dyskinesia (immotile cilia syndrome), but the standard test is electron microscopy from a biopsy of the lining of the nose or airway. Some centers can evaluate a fresh biopsy sample to see how the cilia are actually working while the cells with cilia on them are alive.
