Yes: It's not unusual to run a low grade fever with a cold. Acetominophen or ibuprofen can help with fever and aches. Make certain you drink plenty of fluids, too. Thanks for trusting healthTap!

Yes. However....: Low grade fevers up to 101.4 are not uncommon. If you start running higher fevers for more than 48 hours, consider evaluation by your physician to rule out a more complicated infection. Do remember that the elderly have more problems mounting a fever response to an infection, even when fighting a serious infection such as pneumonia or urinary sepsis.
