A member asked:

What is considered a open sore does it have to bd bleeding to be open? or can it just be red to be open?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Open sores: An open sore is anything where the 'roof' or top layer of skin has come off. This obviously isn't good because it makes it easier for germs to enter the body. Having an intact layer of skin is extremely helpful to keep germs out - so when this breaks down, u have to try and nurture your body back to health to lower the infection risk. This also means to stop activities that could expose u to germs
