Pap smear: A pap smear is just a brush of the top layer of cells off the top of the cervix to look for any precancerous changes. Sometimes this causes some irritation to the cervix and spotting. It should not cause body aches and the passage of blood clots. Contact the doctor who did your exam yesterday to find out if all was normal or if any abnormalities were identified.
