One more month: If after another month of this pill you are still having the prolonged bleeding then you need a different pill. The pills generally have estrogens and progesterone, and when the balance and amount of each is right for you, the monthly period is light, 5-7 days, and normal. See your doctor if this doesn't settle down after one more cycle.
