Soy: The reason this myth began is that soy contains a natural estrogen (female sex hormone). However, the amount in an energybar would be very small. If he eats only soy based products all the time then maybe he would have to worry about the estrogen. Hope this helps.

Not by Cliff pr. bar: Soy has Phytoestrogen the natural estrogen product. But it is a good source of Vegetable Protein. so unless one eats Tofu and soy milk and Soy protein….. every day, it is not bad. As with every thing else "Any thing in Excess is poison."

Not likely: Soy has been used by some women in an effort to raise or imitlate female hormone levels,,but there is no significant way that your young son should be affected by consuming soy products. Strongly suspect his testosterone in fairly high. Edamame probably has more soy than your power bars.

Not really: You may have read that soy contains lots of estrogen and is harmful. A doctor Mercola writes articles claiming it is very very bad! However, an occasional cliff bar, or a glass of soy milk won't hurt any one, except for those who are allergic to soy. The American Academy of Pediatric has stated that soy formulas are safe to feed infants. The above doctor will disagree, of course.
