A member asked:

What does it mean when the baby and placenta are sitting low and have a misshapen gestational sac and has a heart beat at 104 and measures 6 1/2 week ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doomed pregnancy?: Ideally, in a viable pregnancy the gestational sac is spherical and is located in the fundus, the upper part of the uterus, and the fetus' heart rate is above 100 bpm. In your case two out of these three criteria are not met, raising concern that the pregnancy may end in a miscarriage. At the end of the day what is important, though, is the absence of bleeding and cramping.
