Depends: It's not good to do for too many days in a row. The extent of the risk varies depending on your size, diet, etc. Small people and those who eat less risk more liver damage sooner. It's most intended for short-term pain relief - post dental work, etc. It will not help the cause of the pain to be relieved. See your doctor for that. Do it soon. Best.

Ibuprofen: 1000 mgm of ibuprofen/day should not cause you any problems. The upper limit of ibuprofen/day should be no greater than 2000 mgm/day and certainly above 3000mgm/day is a real risk for liver damage. The real question is why are you taking the ibuprofen on a daily basis. That problem may need to be looked into by your physician. If the ibuprofen at 1000mgm/day is causing stomach issues stop it.
