Should be fine: Coconut oil is safe to use and should help soften the wax. However, for loosening the wax and removing blockage, using hydrogen peroxide followed by flushing with water is recommended. See http://www.earthclinic.com/cures/ear-wax-removal-home-remedy.html#h2o2 for a discussion of using hydrogen peroxide to remove ear wax.
