Usually my fasting glucose is between 93 and 97. few weeks ago it was 97. then just couple of weeks later it was 104 first time ever in the pre-diabetic range. it is strange to have a rise of seven points like this in only two weeks?

Not that accurate: there are many factors which influence the blood sugar what you ate, difference in time, if the finger is clean, etc. The difference between 97 and 104 is not significant and is within the error rate of the test If over 120 then we need to check you

Not a problem: You can have that much of a difference as a result of a recent meal, something on your fingers, margin of error with the measuring device. This should not be considered a real change. If you are concerned, have your doctor check your FBS and perhaps do a GTT,
