FINGER FINDING: The sides of the fingers are often the site of a flare-up of a condition known as dyshidrotic eczema, which is a chronic condition characterized by intermittent flares usually brought on by irritants or stress. Dry skin is also a common finding. When flared, small red, painful bumps can occur which occasionally require topical steroids to resolve. Isolated lesions are rare, but can occur.
