What does it mean if the doctor tells u have inflammation of the bowels?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

? Crohn's or UC: Ask the doctor to tell you or write down the exact diagnosis. "Inflammation of the bowels" may be a lay person's term for conditions called Inflammatory Bowel Disease, often abbreviated as IBD. IBD includes Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis. IBD can cause abdominal (belly) pain, diarrhea, frequent stools, bleeding from the rectum, as well as generally not doing well, fevers, and weight loss.
