White blood cells: Inflammation found on a pap smear is usually not something to get too concerned about. It means that they detected some white blood cells in the specimen and possibly saw red looking cervical cells. Could be cervical inflammation which is common and does not necessarily mean a problem. It's possible there's an infection (but not always) and your doc may repeat the pap in 6 months.
