Iron Fortified: Iron fortified cereal are best. Many infants are at risk for iron deficiency anemia at this stage as milk alone does does not generally provide enough milk. Gerber, Earth's Best and other brands sell fortified wheat, barley, rice and oats. Sometimes the cereals come fruit flavored. Start slow and always on a spoon. Have fun with introducing new foods to your baby!

First cereal: This would depend on the consistency of her stools. Any of the single grain cereals (oatmeal, rice or barley) are ok. If her stools are on the looser side than rice, if on the harder side than oatmeal. Thanks for consulting Healthtap. :)
