Why do i have a blood test for glandular fever?

For evidence of it.: Apparently, glandular fever is a viral infection caused by the epstein-barr virus. It can be transmitted by oral contact, like kissing, and airborne saliva droplets. Physical exam can show swollen lymph nodes, tonsils, liver and spleen, but it may not be clear. So blood tests are done. One is a test for antibody to epstein-barr virus, the other is a test for white blood cell count.
