A member asked:

Why would a doctor order an eeg for someone with liver disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

H.E. maybe?: Hepatic enceophalopathy (HE) is a common consequence of advanced liver disease, but other changes in mental acuity as well as neurologic deficits can present coincident with liver disease without association to the liver. What symptoms did you describe to your doctor that prompted his order of an EEG?
