Functional Imaging?: Consider other imaging to try to locate where in the brain the seizures are occurring. Functional imaging looks at how different parts of the brain use glucose (the brain's food) or relative differences in blood supply. Pet/ct scan with f-18 FDG or spect/ct with tc99m hmpao or ecd may be helpful. Consult with your neurologist.

Focus not obvious: Seizures can be caused by small areas of scarring or dysplasia of brain not apparent on eeg. Combination of mr brain imaging and functional petmolecular imaging)can often locate small focus of excitability in the brain. Nuclear brain imaging with spect performed just after seizure and during non seizure period can be compared and subtracted to locate seizure focus. You can ask your neurologist.
