Blood test: For hyperparathyroidism: the first tests are calcium level, Albumin and parathyroid level. If calcium and parathyroid is high, then other tests are necessary (24 hr urine calcium, bone density, parathyroid scan...). For vitamin d deficiency, you can just order a 25-hydroxy-vitamin d level.
