Muscle or nerve pain: Muscle will be burning that hurts as move involved muscle; nerve hurts, stings, sharp rather moving or not. Ice and rest, possible support for back should help both. Muscle will take up to two to three weeks to calm down, nerve injury- radiculopathy or neuropathy, will wax and wane while improving, more slowly and only if the nerve is no longer getting bumped into. Can ask MD for meds.
