Yes, canker sores: can occur any place in the mouth, and result from mild irritation to the mucous membranes or as a response to a virus such as a cold. Alternatively, if this looks like a white nodule, it is also possible to get a small salivary stone in the duct. If it does not resolve in several weeks, have your family doctor, oral surgeon or ENT evaluate. Oral tumors are unlikely at your age.
