You are fine: Hi Maria222 The most accurate way to measure temp is with a thermometer, so if this read normal, you don't have fever. Touching or feeling your skin as a way to know if you have fever is inaccurate. So take a deep breath and feel that you are fine. The bumps on the back of your tongue have been there since you were born, but you may be discovering now. These are the taste buds.

Probably viral: Besides strep infection, which is bacterial and needs antibiotic, most of the throat infections are viral in nature and get better without specific treatment. Use some OTC meds for fever and sore throat and If symptoms persist, get checked with your PCP.

Could be: Normal sometimes the normal taste bumps appear as bumps. If you have no fever, no nasal congestion or cough or pain, their is no indication of an infection
