Generally local prob: if the numbness is isolated to big toe often it is local problem such as shoes or pressure from shoe wear. sometimes referred from a higher nerve source.

See bbelow: Most probably related to a impinged or irritated nerve. May be happening higher up in leg or even the lower back and affecting big toe. See Podiatrist for examination.
