Safe: Rituxin is one of the few mAbs that can destroy a tumor by inducing antibody dependent cell cytoxicity (ADCC) by targeting CD20 on the lymphocyte. This surface antigen is present in all lymphocytes including lymphoma. But the lymphocyte population is reestablished every 24hr causing no major side effects. It improved CHOPP survival from 50% to better than 80% without cardiac toxicity.
