Ask your dentist: if you are getting some kind of sedation or any medications that is going to make you sleepy then you need someone to drive you home. Ask your dentist most single or simple implants are done under local anesthesia. In my office we either drive the patient home or we can call a taxi.Go for it.

Implant surgery: most I plant surgery is done with just local anesthetic, novacaine, and there is no problem for you to drive home. However if you will be using sedatin during the procedure then you will need a driver. Sedation would be planned with you dentist. Have the discussions with them.

Discuss with your: dentist. If done with a local anesthetic there should be no problem driving.

Recommended that: someone drive you to the office and be able to drive you home. The patient should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following implant surgery and the anesthesia experience.

Depends: If you are being put to sleep or taking any sedation meds that might impair your ability to drive (DWI), then it would be necessary to have someone drive you home. If you are being treated just with local anesthetics, you should be fine. Better off discussing with your dentist, someone who actually knows you and what procedures you are contemplating.

Driving after : If your health is good and does not have medical conditions , it is alright to drive. But speak to your implant dentist to understand degree of surgery and if you need someone to drive you back home. If you are sedated you will need someone to drive you.

Depends: Need to ask the dentist what type of sedation/Anesthesia he is going to use. Make sure the dentist realizes your situation and that you will need to be alert before they you leave the office.

Would recommend: Probably better to have someone take you there and back home. Hard to say how you will feel after the procedure, with anesthesia, etc

Post op: If the procedure isndonenunder local anesthetic you should be able to drive home. The post op recovery is usually easier than a routine extraction if there are no complications

Depends: If you require only local anesthesia then you can certainly drive yourself. We have patients do it all the time. However, if you choose to have sedation, then you need a driver. Good luck.

Implant Post Op Care: Most patients have a smooth post op situation after implants. If you have had extractions or other dentistry before with local anesthetic and nitrous, you should be able to drive yourself home. Implant placement is very minimally invasive and many patients use only mild pain meds after placement. Hope all goes well with your procedure.

No: No, unless you are being sedated you should be able to drive yourself there, get a cool strawberry shake on the home & do what you need to do after the procedure with no problem
