Yes: The over stretching of the tendons in the ankle are what happens in an ankle sprain. A brace allows the ankle to be stabilized while the injured tendon is healing. The aircast ankle brace is a brand of brace that uses an inflatable insert between the ankle and the hard plastic brace. Inflation of the insert allows the brace to conform to the ankle better and provide better support.

Yes: A sprain is an overstretching of the ligaments that support the ankle - most commonly on the outside of the ankle. The initial treatment is rice (r= rest, i= immobilization with a splint or ACE and crutches, c= compression with an ACE bandage, and e = elevation.) an air cast is an excellent aide as the sprain is healing. Ankle exercises are important too. Seek medical help for all but mild sprains.

It may help: But rest , ice , elevation and anti-inflammatory's may be better for pain relief.
