Condoms, BCP's: Condoms are the best contraception that is not irreversible for the male partner, and birth control pills, as long as a woman does not have any specific contraindications ( smoking, clotting issues, liver disease, some thyroid disorders, etc) are the safest for most women. Other contraception includes barrier foams and spermicidal gels, IUD's, and provera (medroxyprogesterone) injections

Implanon/Nexplanon: If you're looking for a safe and effective contraceptive that will last for three years, consider the Implanon/Nexplanon implant that gets placed in your arm. It is removable when you want, will last three years, and is completely reversible upon its removal!

IUD: The IUD is a bit more expensive and initially uncomfortable to place, but failure rate is the lowest (<1%) of all forms other than abstinence. Current marketed products in the US are approved for 3 years or more. They don't require you to keep track of pills & have few side effects. Reproductive choice can resume at any time by removing the device.
