Not usually: Not usually, but a swollen lymph node could be a sign of cancer. If it really is a simple cyst and was diagnosed by your doctor, it is not likely to be (or ever turn into) a cancer.

No: A cyst in bone is seen as a hollow space filled with fluid . Both tumors and cysts can form in the bones of the maxillofacial region, Benign cysts and tumors of the jaw are most often odontogenic, related to the teeth. The two kinds of benign non-odontogenic cysts are the traumatic cyst and aneurismal cysts. These benign cyst never convert to malignancy.

A 20-year-old female asked:
What can cause a cancer in the jaw , and what are the symptoms?

Various: The symptom would be a mass on the jaw. Cancerous mass on the jaw can be caused by a growth on the jaw bone itself -i.e. Bone cancer; or can be caused by a growth of the lymphatic gland around the jaw area- and this can be a manifestation of lymphoma or cancer spreading from a cancer that is originated on the head and neck area. However, infection/inflammation can also cause swelling on the jaw.
