Have your PCP: examine the wrist or refer you to an orthopedist to determine the etiology of the pain.

Might need more time: Unfortunately, wrist sprains or over-use can be hard to recover from quickly. You may find yourself having to wear the brace for 6 weeks to 3 months before it gets completely better. Other things your doctor might be able to do for you include: a steroid shot, antiinflammatory medicine, or referral for physical therapy. Hang in there, and wear the brace as often as possible-- even while sleeping.
