A member asked:

If you are being tested for food poisoning - how long does it take for the tests to be done?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Generally 1-2 days: Some of the tests can be done quickly such as assays for toxins or antigens. But many cases are caused by ingestion of bacteria and those have to grow in a culture to be identified.
