Esophagitis: Gastroesophageal reflux can cause espohageal pain, spasm, burning and even hjoarseness as stomach acid irritates the vocal cords. General recommendations include PPI meds (Nexium, Prilosec, Prevacid (lansoprazole) etc), no eating within 2 hours of bedtime, decreased caffeine/alcohol, smaller meals with snacks in between, elevate head of bed abd see a gastroenterologist.
