A member asked:

I am 15 weeks pregnant and my baby's growth is in the 8th percentile. the doctor says my baby is measuring a couple of days behind. could this be why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Sometimes, this early in the pregnancy, a baby could be at the 8th percentile because you or your husband are on the short side. Another reason could be doctor's comparing this ultrasound against a previous one and there's an error in dating. First trimester ultrasounds can be off by +/- 5 days or so. Which, as you might guess, can affect the accuracy. Ob/Gyn will tell you if need to be worried
