A member asked:

34 weeks pregnant. only gained 18lbs so far, but baby feels very big when she moves. doc says i measure a week ahead. does this mean baby will be big?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe : Babies gain most of their weight in the last 6 weeks of the pregnancy so it's hard to say whether or not the baby will be big based only on this. If you or the baby's father were big, if you are diabetic, and how long the pregnancy continues are a few of the things that influence the size of the baby in addition to weight gain. Best wishes for you and the child.
