Mostly milk: A sixth month old baby can begin to eat solid foods. Usually I start babies off with one meal a day, at whichever mealtime is most convenient to mom. The amount is not important but just to try a veggie daily by mouth with a spoon if he will take it! He should be breastfeeding on demand and it is difficult to estimate the exact amount of milk, but 30 to 40 ounces is expected.
