How do doctors test for appendicitis?

CT Scan: Acute appendicitis is diagnosed by the history, physical exam, a blood test to see if there is an infection, and ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis which is very sensitive at detecting acute appendicitis or complications of appendicitis.
