Candida Glabrata: This is a good question! Candida Glabrata is often resistant to our standard anti-fungal vaginal creams (like monistat, lotrimin, and terazol) as well as the standard oral medication: difluan. There are other, stronger antifungal agents, but they may carry more risk to your health. I usually prescribe compounded Boric Acid vaginal capsules for this condition. It works most of the time.

Depends on the cause: Vaginitis is a symptom, not a discrete disease. There are a number of different bugs that can be causing the symptoms (usually itching, discharge, foul smell, occasionally pain/burning with urination, etc). It is important to get examined to make sure you are getting treated for the right bug. Sometimes, tests may be required to confirm the diagnosis as well.
