Depends...: Treatment for pleural effusions and/or pleural plaques depends on the cause. For example, pleural effusions can be due to heart failure, infections like pneumonia, connective tissue disease, etc. Each of these are treated differently. Is there asbestos exposure? See your doctor for diagnosis and then treatment options can be discussed.
