Pleural plaques often contain calcification and pleural thinkening does not. Pleural thickening present during and after pulmonary and pleural inflammation whereas pleural plaques are due to substance deposit such as asbestos. You have pleural thickening by CT so you probably has history of pleuropulmonary infection or inflammation. Take care !
