What are the risks of removing stomach tumors?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Few: Most stomach tumors now arise in the proximal cardioesophageal region requiring a major resection including distal esophagus. Obstruction and hemorrhage will occur if untreated. If cleared medically primary resection recommended. Failure to resect using RT and chemo for such lesions may help but not always curative. Distal lesions easier to resect.
