A member asked:

What happens after you cure cushings? the stretch marks and weight gain in the stomach from the excess cortisolonce the tumor causing all the issues is removed.will i lose the weight?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normalize hormones: Cushing's disease (presumably of pituitary origin) leads to excess cortisol secretion. This leads to hypertension, increased heart size, weight gain, diabetes mellitus, increased infection risk. With normalization of the cortisol levels, there is improvement in the blood pressure, blood glucose levels, and weight loss. Although there may be decrease in fatty tissue, the stretch marks may remain.
