A member asked:

What are the applications of radial immunodiffusion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Quantification: Radial immunodiffusion can help detect quantity or concentration of a protein. The benefit is that it is relatively inexpensive to perform and pretty reliable in experienced hands. Newer methods are sometimes used, but can be more expensive or involve more technical expertise. (e.g.to quantify some antibody/components, nephelometry can give more precise information at detecting small quantities)
