A member asked:

Small right paracentral disc protrusion with facet arthropathy without neural compromise. what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Arthritis in spine: When I see this report from a radiologist it means that the person has some degeneration of the spine. The spine wears out in a well described manner typically. The cartilage of the disk dries out followed by facet joint hypertrophy. If we look at this from an imaging MRI standpoint; we will see a protruding or bulging disk and enlargement of the facet joints. Treatment is only for symptoms.
