Unclear what you are: asking about. An embolism is when clot travels inside a blood vessel. It blocks blood flow to an area but does not attach to nerves. It may affect the blood flow to the spinal cord or its branches in the back. The patient can develop problems with sensation or motor function. I'll make the assumption that he is seeing someone for this.
