Air embolus: An air embolus can occur with severe coughing and a damaged lung - the pressure from the cough can force air into the pulmonary vein, which can cause stroke -like symptoms. Immediate treatment is to assume a heads-down, lying on left side posture (helps prevent the bubbles from going to the brain) + Oxygen. Immeidate Hyperbaric treatments can cure the stroke symptoms.
