My 2 month old son has e-histolytica. how serious is this? i didn't understand the doctor's explanation.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

E. histolytica: is parasite that has invaded your baby's intestinal tract. It is more common in tropical countries and spread through hands, food, water or other close contact with an infected person. It is usually associated with diarrhea, weight loss and abdominal pain. Treatment is with very specific antibiotics that will be prescribed by a doctor. This is contagious, others in the house should be tested.
