Are there any cures for food allergies?

Food allergies: some food allergies are often outgrown as a child ages. Others are lifelong allergies. Evaluation and close follow up is needed for children with food allergies. Avoidance of the foods involved should be practiced until otherwise determined by an physician specializing in allergy

Working on it: Currently the main option for patients with food allergy is avoidance and epinephrine. However there are clinical trials and Allergists across the country attempting various protocols to help decrease severity of reactions. Oral immuotherapy for common food allergens is currently being offered by a number of Allergists throughout the country.
