Avoid the food: The body processes the food over a 2-4 day period so persistence of food reactions are common for that period. Once the protein in the food has been disassembled it will not trigger further response. You stop these effects by avoiding the food, reading small print on labels. The FDA requires processed food to include a listing of common allergens. Antihistamines can sometimes help with symptoms.
